Mega-hauler BFI has mostly been a consumer of refuse trucks, rather than a producer. However, the firm did produce this unusual prototype front loader in 1977 on a CCC Centurion low-entry truck chassis.
Designed to legally carry a 30,000 pound payload, it used aluminum components in the body for weight savings. Other objectives of the project were "...reduced fuel consumption, improved driver visibility, fewer trucks needed to perform collection duties and improved maneuverability." Additional details, and who built this mammoth for BFI are not currently known.
