UNSOLVED MYSTERIES
(#Z302) UNKNOWN REAR LOADER, ITALY
** Identified: Bergomi **

Identified by Dana Gregory:

"I believe that the Italian rear loader Z302 is a Bergomi two-stage, continuous-loading packer similar to the Haller Kompact Mullwagen. I recognize the angular corners at the top of the body, which was used by Bergomi in the 70s. Like the Haller, the Bergomi has a pivoting drawer at the bottom of the hopper which swings up to meet the packer plate, which then presses the load into the body. Bergomi also had an auger screw tailgate which fit on the same body style."
