Essloo Equipment Company Ltd.
London, England

Robert Livingstone and Arthur Wilkinson patented their refuse collection body in 1939, which consisted of an enclosed tipper body with low-loading rear hopper. The hopper was periodically cleared by an elevator plate, which first raised the load up to roof level, then moved into the body to trim and compact the load. After the war, these were sometimes referred to as "Scammell-Essloo" bodies, indicating they were either bought by or closely associated with Scammell Lorries Ltd.. Indeed, Essloo bodies are known to have been paired with Scammell Mechanical Horse 3-wheeler tractors, but were also mounted on other conventional chassis. Presumably out of business by the late 1950s or thereabout.
