With the recycling renaissance of the late 1980s, separation of materials saw a return to non-compaction, compartmented truck bodies and trailers by many haulers. In 1990, G & H brought collection of recyclables back to the compaction era with the R-90 series of rear loaders. These vertically-split bodies could be ordered with 2, 3, 4 or even 5 compartments. With one compartment used for rubbish, haulers could complete collection routes in a single pass if desired.

Compaction in each individual tailgate was by hinged-hopper/sweep, or conventional slide/sweep packing, or a combination. The most current models now use only slide/sweep packers, and are available in 1-3 compartment configurations. Even a non-compacting model, the RR-90 was briefly offered. This used a circular body with side troughs which was periodically rotated to upend the troughs.

The 2000 Series manual side loader was recently added, similar in construction to the old Hobbs Hyd-Pak models. The R-90 rear loader has been sold as a packaged truck by Crane Carrier, mated with their Centurion chassis and badged as a CCC. In addition to the recyclers, G & H manufactures a complete line of refuse equipment including roll-offs, trailers and container handlers.
