Lambretta
Innocenti Corporation
Long Island City, New York

The New York Department of Sanitation (DSNY) tested Lambretta scooters in the early 1960s, as possible replacements for the push-carts currently used for street litter. The 7.5 HP machine could travel 60 miles per gallon of gasoline used, at speeds up to 38 MPH. It featured a covered dump body of just over one cubic yard, with closing doors.
