The Municipal Equipment Manufacturing Plant was established in Poland after World War II,a state-owned agglomerate for the production of all manner of industrial equipment. The company was privatized in 1999. Several models of rear loaders are known to have been built since the 1950s. The earliest were the SM Series, a small Ochsner-type body, probably built under license. Little is known about the SM92, a 13.5 cubic meter body from about 1973, which may have been a hinged-hopper design. The last known model was the SM200, a conventional slide-sweep type loader. It is presumed the company no longer makes refuse bodies as of this writing.
