1982 American LaFrance with Heil Formula 7000

    This rare living classic represents the vanguard of commercially-produced automated side loaders (ASL) which began appearing on the streets of North America beginning in the mid-1970s. This fine example from Heil was their first production model ASL, and still sports the original "formula" paint and lettering scheme found on many of their products from the early 1980s. Mated to this classic packer is a classic truck: an American LaFrance CTC cabover with Cummins power. Although not in regular service, this vehicle is still fully operational as can be seen in the video below.
