1963 Pace Bucket Loader
Seemingly an anachronism by 1963, bucket loader type trucks were still used by some contractors and sanitation departments. Pace Corporation of Kewanee, Illinois, was one of the few builders still offering this type of body, which had in its favor simplicity of design and lower initial cost compared to packer bodies. Though lacking any compaction mechanism, these bodies were still well suited for hauling garbage, which was still being collected separately in many areas. Presently this type body is still sometimes adapted for use in collecting grease by the rendering industry.
