1968 Gar Wood Load-Runner
The 1960's was a time of great development in the refuse industry, not only in automated systems but in "one man" and satellite retriever type vehicles. The 6.5 cubic yard Load-Runner was a conventional platen-type packer suitable for scatter routes and missed stops, and required only a one ton light truck chassis. Additionally, the rear edge of the body could be raised hydraulically up to twelve inches to facilitate discharge into a conventional rear load packer.
