Classification: Rotary Pulverizer Body
LOADING: CONTINUOUS

A self-loading refuse body, with powered means to crush and load refuse by way of a continuously revolving pulverizer drum. The drum may utilize centrifugally extending vanes, hinged flail tines or other means to pulverize refuse as it passes under a fixed anvil to reduce volume. Mechanism fully enclosed and located at the rear of the body. The body may or may not feature means for further compaction of load by an auxiliary compression plate.

Very few models ever produced. The first known example was marketed by Roto-Pac in 1948. In addition to being unsafe to crewmen, generally considered unsuitable due to power consumption, noise and high maintenance. More commonly used in larger scale for processing refuse at disposal plants.
