LOADING: CONTINUOUS


    A circular refuse body, mounted horizontally, rotatable by power means, and typically loaded at the rear. Fitted with internal vanes to propel refuse forward during normal rotation to compact and consolidate load, and to propel refuse rearward when reversed for unloading body. Typically fitted with a hinged tailgate. May or may not incorporate tilting means to assist during unloading.

    Developed and popularized by Keller und Knappich, Augsburg (KUKA) in Germany during the late 1920s. Examples remain in production from various manufacturers.
