RECENT EBAY AUCTION RESULTS
The Child Guidance Toys #2500 Loadmaster is one of the most sought after replicas. Intact examples are hard to find, and this one (shown at left) sold for $785.00 USD on November 16th. It had a small piece broken off the rear hopper door, but came complete with box, trash cans and instructions
One week later, another example (shown at right) was offered with box, but without instructions and only one can. Despite a large crack in the top of the tailgate, it still fetched a repectible $510.00 USD.
Tonka Toys made two versions of their front bucket loader in 1959-60. One was a square back, and the other had a rounded tail. It is quite possible that this toy was patterned after the mid-1950's Bowles non-compaction front loader, and featured a removable bucket. The model seems to have been withdrawn from the market due to a safety issue, and surviving examples today command very high prices. Two models similar to the restored truck shown here recently sold in the $400.00-600.00 price range.
