Documents how Los Angeles salvages and puts to good use refuse and discarded material. Shows operation and sanitary conditions for handling garbage, tin cans, bottles, and other materials which can be salvaged. 20 minutes.
The Unbeatable SD Revopak (1971)
Factory promo film, color but no sound. This film has the feel of a home movie , and Brian Carpenter confirms that it was indeed made by SD Sales Director Jack Wilkinson. Whatever it may lack in sound and production values is more than made up for by thirty minutes of non-stop action. Follows an early (perhaps the first) N-type Revopak on a typical day's work devouring rubbish and furniture. Spectacular truck, with a yellow cab and highly polished alloy body. Detail of the early motor-driven rake is shown, as well as unloading footage. Without doubt, one of the greatest refuse truck films I have ever seen.

The entire film may viewed in seven parts by clicking the link above. Again, many thanks to Jaap Mikkers for making this available to CRT.
